Tickle Bites

A poem by Du Kirpalani

I’m ready for bed,
You’re ready for bed,
You’re not sleepy,
I’m not sleepy,

You’re playful,
You’re happy,
You lunge for my tummy,
You snarl and bite,
Bite me all over,
You can’t stop biting,
Tickle bites they are

I can’t stop laughing,
I can’t stop crying,
Breathing is difficult,
I love it

‘Stop stop!’ I yell,
I mean the opposite,
You know what I mean,
You continue,
You snarl,
You lunge,
You bite

I’m laughing so hard,
From my heart,
These are the sweetest kisses,
The loudest of kisses,
Your own invention,
They are the tickle bites
